Kerala Saranya Loan Scheme 2024
The government of Kerala launched the Saranya Scheme to Empower the most backward and segregated women in the State, namely widows, divorced, deserted, spinsters above the age of 30 and unwedded mothers of Scheduled Tribe, Differently abled, and Wife of Bedridden patients.
Under the Kerala Saranya Loan Scheme, an interest-free loan of up to Rs. 50,000 is given for starting self-employment ventures, out of which 50% is reimbursed as a Government subsidy subject to a maximum of Rs. 25,000/- through the Employment Department. Repayment will be in 60 equal monthly installments.
Benefits & Features of the Saranya Loan Scheme
- The Scheme is Focused on Uplifting the most backward and segregated women in the State, namely widows, divorced, deserted, spinsters above the age of 30 and unwedded mothers of Scheduled Tribe, Differently abled, and Wife of Bedridden patients.
- Loans up to 50,000 Rupees will be Provided to set up self-employed businesses.
- 50% of the Loan amount that is Up to 25,000 will be provided as the Subsidy by the Government.
- The beneficiary is exempted from providing any security for the loan amount.
- If the Applicant requires an amount above the limit of Rs.50000/, the Applicant has to remit her beneficiary contribution of 10% of that amount. Moreover, the beneficiary has to remit 3% as interest at a flat rate for the amount she avails in excess to Rs. 50000/.
- This scheme is intended for individual ventures, but it is also allows to start of joint ventures by more than one entrepreneur. Each person in this joint venture will get a maximum loan and subsidy.
- For ventures that are running successfully and have repaid at least 50% of the loan amount, an additional loan amount subject to a maximum of 80% of the original loan amount at nominal interest rates is eligible for expanding the venture
Monitoring of the Saranya Loan Scheme
- The scheme is monitored through the District Employment Officers and Employment Officers of Town Employment Exchanges.
- The Director of Employment Exchange is the Monitoring Head of the Saranya Scheme.
- If the beneficiary does not repay 3 consecutive installments, two reminders will be sent. If no reply is received, revenue recovery action to realize the loan amount with interest will be initiated.
- If it is found that the loan amount was utilized for other purposes then the full amount will be Recovered with subsidy by revenue Recovery.

Saranya Loan Scheme Eligibility Criteria
- All unemployed widows, divorced, deserted, spinsters above the age of 30 years are eligible for this scheme.
- Unwed mothers of STs Registered in Employment Exchange between the ages of 18-55 years are eligible for the Scheme.

Saranya Loan Scheme Application Form
- Visit the Official Website of the Saranya Self Employment Scheme.
- Click on the Download Application Form.
- Now fill out the Application Form with Your Details like Name, Address and Mobile Number.
- Enter the Employment Exchange Registration Number and Other Details.
- After successfully filling out the Form, Submit it to the Nearest Employment Exchange Office.
- The Verification of the Application will be Conducted at the Employment Exchange Regarding the Correctness of the Data filled in the Application.
- All the Certificates will be verified by the Employment Exchange.
- After the Verification Of the Form, the loan amount will be Directly sent to the Bank account of the Applicant from the Employment Department.
